Note:
La famille noble d'Ardon exerçait la justice en tant que vidomne du village de ce nom. La branche noble est éteinte au XIVe siècle.
Le vidomnat de la seigneurie d'Ardon appartint d'abord à la famille d'Arbon, puis se partagea à la fin du XIIIe siècle entre de La Tour et les d'Aigle.

ARDON (Valais , Conthey) , grand village paroissial sur la rive droite du Rhône , à l'entrée de la gorge de la Lizerne , rivière qui le détruisit au 13° siècle et en dévasta le territoire en 1778.
Le village est au milieu des vergers , au pied d'un coteau exposé au midi , et dont le vignoble produit un des meilleurs vins du Valais .
L'activité des habitants, la richesse de la campagne, l'abondance des moissons font de ce village un des greniers du canton .
-Grandes usines ; commerce de vin, alimenté par le vignoble des environs ; par sa force , cet excellent vin rappelle les vins d'Espagne.
On exploite dans le voisinage des mines de fer ; les fonderies et les forges sont à Ardon.
Cette exploitation avait été concédée à une compagnie genevoise qui s'est dissoute il y a une quarantaine d'années ; mais elle a été reprise en 1852 , et l'on y a donné une grande extension
dès lors. 816 hab. en 1859.

Notiz:
Die Adelsfamilie von Ardon übte die Justiz als Vidomne des gleichnamigen Dorfes aus. Der Adelszweig starb im 14. Jahrhundert aus.
Die Herrschaft der Herrschaft Ardon gehörte zunächst der Familie Arbon, wurde dann Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts geteilt. zwischen de La Tour und den Aigles.
Waffen: "Gules, zwei Schlüssel oder in Saltire gesetzt."
- Boccard d'Ardon, Vidomnes, gehörte 1179 beim Vertrag von Morge zu den bischöflichen Baronen.

ARDON (Wallis, Conthey), grosses Pfarrdorf am rechten Rhône-Ufer, am Eingang zur Lizerne-Schlucht, dem Fluss, der sie im 13. Jahrhundert zerstörte und 1778 ihr Territorium verwüstete.
Das Dorf liegt inmitten von Obstgärten am Fusse eines nach Süden ausgerichteten Hügels, dessen Weinberg einen der besten Weine des Wallis hervorbringt.
Die Aktivität der Einwohner, der Reichtum der Landschaft und die reichen Ernten machen dieses Dorf zu einer der Kornkammern des Kantons.
- Große Fabriken; Weinhandel, beliefert von den umliegenden Weinbergen; Dieser ausgezeichnete Wein erinnert in seiner Stärke an die Weine Spaniens.
Eisenminen werden in der Nähe bearbeitet; Gießereien und Schmieden befinden sich in Ardon.
Diese Operation war einer Genfer Firma übertragen worden, die sich vor etwa vierzig Jahren aufgelöst hatte; aber es wurde 1852 wieder aufgenommen und erhielt eine große Erweiterung
seit damals. 816 Einw. im Jahr 1859.

Nota:
La nobile famiglia degli Ardon esercitava la giustizia come vidomne del villaggio omonimo. Il ramo nobiliare si estinse nel XIV secolo.
Il dominio della signoria di Ardon appartenne prima alla famiglia Arbon, poi fu diviso alla fine del XIII secolo tra de La Tour e la famiglia d'Aigle.

ARDON (Vallese, Conthey), grande villaggio parrocchiale sulla riva destra del Rodano, all'ingresso della gola della Lizerne, fiume che la distrusse nel XIII secolo e ne devastò il territorio nel 1778.
Il villaggio è in mezzo ai frutteti, ai piedi di una collina esposta a sud, e il cui vigneto produce uno dei migliori vini del Vallese.
L'attività degli abitanti, la ricchezza delle campagne, l'abbondanza dei raccolti fanno di questo borgo uno dei granai del cantone.
- Grandi fabbriche; commercio di vino, fornito dai vigneti circostanti; per la sua forza, questo eccellente vino ricorda i vini della Spagna.
Nelle vicinanze si lavorano miniere di ferro; fonderie e fucine sono ad Ardon.
Questa operazione era stata concessa a una società ginevrina che si è sciolta una quarantina di anni fa; ma fu ripreso nel 1852, e gli fu dato un grande ampliamento
da allora. 816 ab. nel 1859.

ARDON (Valais, Conthey), large parish village on the right bank of the Rhône, at the entrance to the Lizerne gorge, the river which destroyed it in the 13th century and devastated its territory in 1778.
The village is in the middle of orchards, at the foot of a hillside facing south, and whose vineyard produces one of the best wines of Valais.
The activity of the inhabitants, the richness of the countryside, the abundance of harvests make this village one of the granaries of the canton.
- Large factories; wine trade, supplied by the surrounding vineyards; by its strength, this excellent wine recalls the wines of Spain.
Iron mines are worked in the vicinity; foundries and forges are in Ardon.
This operation had been granted to a Geneva company which dissolved some forty years ago; but it was resumed in 1852, and it was given a great extension
since then. 816 inhab. in 1859.
