- Marguerite MASSELOT. - Philippe van der Burch, bourgmestre de la commune de Bruges en 1604, 1607, 1609, 1612, 1615, épousa le 7 septembre 1596, Marguerite Masselot, dite de Pottes, dame d'Héron fontaine, fille de Jean Masselot, seigneur d'Aulnoy , d'Haire, d'Hergnies et de Catherine d'Offignies, petite fille de Pierre Masselot et de Marie de Pottes, dame d'Aulnoy .

Étymologie:
Masselin, Masselot. 1º Dérivé de Thomas ou de Masse ; 2º dérivé de mazel :boucherie (du latin macellinum) ; 3º abréviation de Marcelin, Marcelot.
On donnait aussi le nom de macelotte à une petite massue.

- Marguerite MASSELOT. - Philippe van der Burch, burgemeester van de gemeente Brugge in 1604, 1607, 1609, 1612, 1615, trouwde op 7 september 1596 met Marguerite Masselot, bekend als de Pottes, vrouwe van Héron Fontaine, dochter van Jean Masselot, heer van Aulnoy, d'Haire, d'Hergnies en Catherine d'Offignies, kleindochter van Pierre Masselot en Marie de Pottes, vrouwe van Aulnoy.
- Marguerite MASSELOT kocht in 1608 het Hôtel de Saint-Symphorien, gelegen rue de Nimy in Mons.
- Jeanne de MASSELOT, vrouwe van Aulnoy (1640).
- Jean MASSELOT de POTTES, edelman, heer van Aulnoy (1650).
- Mathias MASSELOT, soldaat, zoon van Claude en Barbe Merlin, uit Chatenaye, in Lorraine, gevestigd in Chambly (Canada) in 1760.
- MASSELOT, onderbegeleide chirurg in het militair hospitaal van Versailles, beroemd geworden tijdens de dysenterie-epidemie van 1842.
- MASSELOT, bijnaam in Canada van de LAJOIE.

Etymologie:
Masselin, Masselot. 1º Afgeleid van Thomas of Masse; 2º afgeleid van mazel: slagerij (van het Latijnse macellinum); 3º afkorting van Marcelin, Marcelot.
De naam macelotte werd ook aan een kleine club gegeven.
