Symbolique du blason Cray ou Craye:
- L'argent est au respect de l'or, ce que la lune est au respect du soleil, et comme ces deux astres tiennent le premier rang entre les autres planètes, de même, l'or et l'argent excellent sur le reste des métaux, et sont employés par leur dignité dans les armoiries, à l'exclusion des autres mé￾taux.
- Le chevron représente les éperons du cavalier, ou les étais en bois destinés à soutenir les travaux de fortification.

Symboliek van het wapen van Cray of Craye:
- Zilver is ten opzichte van goud, wat de maan is ten opzichte van de zon, en aangezien deze twee sterren de eerste plaats innemen onder de andere planeten, blinken goud en zilver op dezelfde manier uit op de overige metalen, en worden ze gebruikt door hun waardigheid in wapenschilden, met uitsluiting van andere metalen.
- De chevron vertegenwoordigt de sporen van de ruiter, of de houten steunen die bedoeld zijn om het werk van fortificatie te ondersteunen.
