- La famille Bacot est une famille subsistante d'ancienne bourgeoisie française.
- Famille protestante de soyeux originaire de Touraine, une branche s'installa en Angleterre et une autre en Caroline du Sud à la suite de la révocation de l'édit de Nantes.
- Le premier auteur connu de cette famille est Antoine Bacot, marchand à Tours, qui signe le 10 aout 1583 un contrat d'apprentissage de son fils François, âgé de 14 ou 15 ans chez Mathurin Mesnager, maître passementier (Archives départementales d'Indre-et-Loire, cote 3E5/236).
- Claude-René Bacot de Romand (1792-1853) est créé baron héréditaire le 16 mai 1816 par le roi Louis XVIII.

- The Bacot family is a surviving family of former French bourgeoisie.
- A Protestant family of silk workers from Touraine, one branch settled in England and another in South Carolina following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
- The first known author of this family is Antoine Bacot, merchant in Tours, who signed on August 10, 1583 an apprenticeship contract for his son François, aged 14 or 15 with Mathurin Mesnager, master trimmer (Archives départementales d'Indre -et-Loire, side 3E5/236).
- Claude-René Bacot de Romand (1792-1853) was created hereditary baron on May 16, 1816 by King Louis XVIII.
